High school and college students spent the day Saturday helping install windows and close in the house on Academy Street.

The house has been closed in and ready for siding.

With a dedicated crew of volunteers, many of whom came back week after week, we were able to frame the first floor very quickly.

We received the delivery of nearly 20 tons of stone which will be used to fill in the foundation walls before the concrete slab is poured. Now it just has to be moved into place.

The under-slab inspection will hopefully be next week for that we will need the gravel in place, the final foundation insulation and a vapor barrier.

Come snow, sleet or rain – nothing stops the Habitat house.  All of the underground water and sewer lines were installed yesterday!  And, inspected.
